the Egyptian God of Knowledge
Thoth was one of mythology’s ancient Egyptian deities that was worshipped as the Egyptian God of Knowledge.
Artistically, he was portrayed as a man with a head of an ibis or baboon.
In the Greek version, he was referred to as the Grecian God Hermes (the messenger of God).
“Thoth became heavily associated with the arbitration of godly disputes, the arts of magic, the system of writing, the development of science, and the judgment of the dead.” (source: Wikipedia)
Today, this hybrid, part human part animal, is considered a transhuman.
In researching Thoth, I was amazed that Thoth is emblazoned in a Bronze Sculpture at the John Adams Bldg in Washington, DC, on one of the entry doorways into America’s government buildings. Not only is he depicted on this entry doorway but so are some other false gods:
- THOTH, an Egyptian god
- TS’ANG CHIEH, the Chinese patron of writing
- NABU, an Akkadian god
- BRAHMA, the Indian god
- CADMUS, the Greek sower of dragon’s teeth
- TAHMURATH, a hero of the ancient Persians
The history of the written word is depicted in sculpted figures by Lee Lawrie on the bronze doors at the west (Second Street) and east (Third Street) entrances. The center doors at the west entrance contain six figures, which are repeated on the flanking doors of the east entrance. The figures are:
- HERMES, the messenger of the gods
- ODIN, the Viking-Germanic god of war and creator of the runic alphabet
- OGMA, the Irish god who invented the Gaelic alphabet
- ITZAMA, god of the Mayans
- QUETZALCOATL, the god of the Aztecs
- SEQUOYAH, an American Indian

What are these underworld “gods” doing on America’s entry doorways to government? Why?
Black Book of Carmarthen & Egyptian Hieroglyphs:
The reason I was researching Thoth was because when I did the post on the 1250 circa Black Book of Carmarthen, the “artistic doodles” on the margins and sprinkled across some of the pages, left me wondering about them. I kept thinking about them not understanding what they really represented other than “artistic”–that funny looking left hand, the string of chain links, crosses with circles some with only a few links surrounding other images. (figure f 29.v)
Then there’s the bird with the long beak facing to the right, embedded in the text that reminded me of “something” but couldn’t quite place it:
(figure f. 29.r)
Notice the string of green chain links embedded on the right hand side of the page.
All of these are symbols. They are, in my opinion, Egyptian hieroglyphs.
There’s another page that has what I believe could be a jackal, a wild animal, or perhaps a dragon with the coiled tail, of sorts.
It may not be but it looks more ominous than the docile looking dragon that I used on my previous post. The flying bird and the chain links represent “to disappear” and in one recording it represents a “wick” according to the legend on the Wikipedia page on hieroglyphs. There are 5,000 hieroglyphs. Papyrus of Ani:
At the same time that the Circa 1250 Black Book of Carmarthen was created, so was the Papyrus of Ani” created in the 19th dynasty with its own colorful hieroglyphs and illustrations. It was Thoth’s declaration to the Ennead based on the weighing of the heart (judgment) of the scribe Ani by removing the heart from the body and literally weighing it on scales:
“The Papyrus of Ani is a papyrus manuscript with cursive hieroglyphs and color illustrations created circa 1250 BCE, in the 19th dynasty of the New Kingdom of ancient Egypt. Egyptians compiled an individualized book for certain people upon their death, called the Book of Going Forth by Day, more commonly known as the Book of the Dead, typically containing declarations and spells to help the deceased in their afterlife. The Papyrus of Ani is the manuscript compiled for the Theban scribe Ani.” (source: Wikipedia)
For anyone interested in a closer look at the Egyptian “books”, their practices, cultures, Legends of Ra and Isis, etc: click here: bibliotecapleyades.net. I’m pointing you in this direction to get a better perspective because there’s a strong link between history and present day thoughts and philosophy.
In other words, history is being repeated.
As a gemstones and minerals enthusiast, I was listening to a YouTube video on the Emerald Tablets thinking “oh how cute!” Nothing is further from the truth of gemstones or minerals. The Emerald Tablets is a long winded teaching on the principles of the Emerald Tablets discovered from the Sumerian era, Atlantis, the lost continent.
These tablets and its principles leads anyone who believes on them away from the true God, Jesus Christ. Unfortunately many do today promote books, videos, audio/podcasts can be seen all over the YouTube and internet websites.
That’s how I got to Mythology’s Thoth, the Egyptian God of Knowledge–the bronze sculptures on American government entry door ways honoring false gods, the Egyptian hieroglyphs, and the Papyrus of Ani–judgment of the dead.
(God doesn’t waste my time–no matter how innocent I am looking at something, it turns into a lesson. Praise God!)
If ever we should wonder how America got to this almost ruinous stage, how our government got corrupted–it’s the belief system that was introduced into the culture and honored on our sacred doorways and land.
There’s only one true God of Knowledge–Jesus Christ–that we should be honoring! Ask Him to guide you because He is the God of Righteousness, the true God of Light, of everlasting life.
The mythology or legends of these false gods of false deities–they’re not mythology or even legends–they are gods of the underworld, waiting for someone to open up their personal doors for them to pass through to you.
What’s a bit more perplexing is that when you see circa 1250 and you transpose it, you get the year 2015!
- And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: (Luke 17:26)
Think about it!
Stay safe, be blessed.
