Praise & Worship:

At the Cross

Unity Through Diversity Not Through Divisiveness

A few posts ago I  mentioned that we needed to be unified (unity) as a group to support the Native American Indians against what was happening with the federal land grabbing situation.

Unity Through Diversity

The following few scriptures describes how we reach unity through diversity:

  • Psalm 133:1 [Blessed Unity of the People of God] [A Song of Ascents. Of David.] Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!
  • 1 Corinthians 12:1 [Spiritual Gifts: Unity in Diversity] Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant:
  • 1 Corinthians 12:12 [Unity and Diversity in One Body] For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ.
  • Ephesians 4:1  [Walk in Unity] I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,
  • Ephesians 4:3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
  • Ephesians 4:13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

I was a bit puzzled over the scriptures that confirm that Jesus Christ came to “set a man against his father, daughter against her mother, and daughter in law against her mother in law, etc.”

  • Micah 7:6 For son dishonors father, Daughter rises against her mother, Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; A man’s enemies are the men of his own household.
  • Matthew 10:35 For I have come to ‘set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’;
  • Luke 12:53 Father will be divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

Separation of Powers and Reasoning:

The Spirit of the Lord reminded me this morning about how the United States, although united, is diversified:  it has several branches of government, with separate powers:  The Federal or Executive Branch of the Government, the Congress, the House of Representatives, and even the U.S. Supreme Court–each is a ‘separate’ power of authority, creating a balance of powers. We are united as a nation but set apart and diversified.  {The question is are we united “One Nation Under God”?}

It’s not God’s will to bring wrath upon a nation but it is for man’s free will to choose that which is right through Jesus Christ.

The quarreling, the bickering is an ‘in-house enemy’ that exists because of strife.  This quarreling, the bickering, the excessive gossiping lead to misunderstandings, escalating to tyrannical wars of imbalance of powers and destruction which does not allow ‘reason’ to dictate the end results of peace.

This same concept or a separation of powers exists in a person’s own home.  The  parents  have been ordained with a parental power over the children.  The husband over the wife.  If parents do not have a mutual respect of one another’s ‘gifts of diversity’ and do not ‘come into agreement’ then the house falls divided.

  • Luke 11:17 But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls.

The bible also goes as far as reminding parents not to become tyrants in their own homes.  The ‘rod of correction’ is what is described in the bible for parents and children:

  • Proverbs 22:15  Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of correction will drive it far from him.
  • Proverbs 23:13 Do not withhold correction from a child, For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die.
The Rod of Correction does not mean it’s a belt or an actual piece of lumber as a weapon to beat the child into submissiveness.
  • Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.

God or Mammon?

  • Matthew 6:24  [You Cannot Serve God and Riches] “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

The Lord God loves His creation of diversity.  He created the ‘separation’ of a multitude of nations, tribes, and tongues:

  • Isaiah 66:18 “For I know their works and their thoughts. It shall be that I will gather all nations and tongues; and they shall come and see My glory.
  • Revelation 5:9 And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
  • Revelation 7:9 [ A Multitude from the Great Tribulation ] After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands,

Jesus Christ came to ‘separate’ those who serve Him from those who have chosen otherwise from every nation, tongue, tribe and/or home.

11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
{Ephesians 5:11 NKJV}

Jesus Christ is the answer to all of our problems.  Are you saved?  Do you know Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior?

“I am the vine, you are the branches.
He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit;
for without Me you can do nothing.”
{John 15:5 NKJV}

Pray to the One who saves man’s soul from eternal darkness separated from the giver of Life, Jesus Christ.  Ask Him into your heart, repent of your wrongdoings (sin) and accept Him into your daily lives.  He is faithful; He is forgiving; He will save you.

Stay safe. Be blessed.

 …if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet,
and the people are not warned,
and the sword comes and takes any person from among them,
he is taken away in his iniquity;
but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.”
{Ezequiel 33:6}

    • Like LA said, there’s gonna be a cosmic regime change soon enough. We can’t change the minds of the damned. The King (*) is coming — soon enough — on His schedule.

      Any “so called christian” that excused 1 Billion abortions world-wide since Roe V. Wade — ain’t a true christian. There is no call for concord with the dead.

      (* of this creation, the next, and beyond)

  1. “They shall be white as snow”, and “they shall be given white robes”, are such meaningful verses. Coincidently, traveling down a county road this afternoon, I spotted an albino deer. This is the first one that I have ever seen. Soon after, I spotted some white gulls. No, the gulls weren’t a rarity, but the color stood out after seeing the white deer.

    We watched the Illinois basketball high school 2a championship game tonight, and the white uniformed team beat the scarlet uniformed team. I just find that this was a timely correlation with the verses above.

    Good blog from Seashore, as always, and good to see Pete commenting again, along with Corey, Nome, et al.

    • G’Day, R. Bannon! That’s a wonderful experience you have had there with sighting the deer & gulls, & basketball team. How symbolic!

  2. On a side note to Mary’s statement that America is governed and upheld by three seperate branches of government (and thus it’s citizenry tremendously blessed as a result) – Executive, Judicial and Legislative. It is a providential fingerprint that this corresponds to the Godhead – the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit … the three personages of God. It is indeed an interesting picture that shows in the proper functioning of a household.

    • And then of course, if one got down into all the details of the functioning of each branch, one might discover some very interesting parallels with how each person of the Godhead functions in their respective administrative tasks, given that our nation and it’s system of government bears the fingerprint of divine providence. Now that would be something to look into.

    • Notice that it was “7 years” after the Revolution. Interesting indeed considering that the number 7 is the biblical number of perfection and is a number found very prominently in biblical scripture.

  3. One minor correction … there are currently 27 amendments to the constitution. The latest one (the 27th) was adopted in 1992. So, perhaps there isn’t any providential significance to the 26, but the mere fact that the first ten make up the Bill Of Rights corresponding to the Ten Commandments very obviously bears the providential mark of God’s signature. Fascinating indeed.

    • An afterthought … so, since the first ten amendments make up the Bill of Rights that correspond to the ten commandments, could it be asked and given any significance that if the nation starts to fail to honestly abide and strive to live by those ten commandments that our rights (bill of rights) as Americans will start to disappear by getting the leadership that will take them away little by little? Hmmmmm ….

    • Romans 14:1-3

      Him that is weak in the faith receive ye
      – but not to doubtful disputations
      For one believeth that he may eat all things
      – another who is weak eateth herbs
      Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not
      – and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth
      – for God hath received him
