Good Friday: The Trial, Death, and Crucifixion of Jesus Christ:

Jesus Faces Pilate

“11 Now Jesus stood before the governor. And the governor asked Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?”

Jesus said to him, It is as you say.” 12 And while He was being accused by the chief priests and elders, He answered nothing.

13 Then Pilate said to Him, “Do You not hear how many things they testify against You?” 14 But He answered him not one word, so that the governor marveled greatly.” {Matthew 27:11-14}

The King on a Cross

“32 Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they compelled to bear His cross. 33 And when they had come to a place called Golgotha, that is to say, Place of a Skull, 34 they gave Him sour wine mingled with gall to drink. But when He had tasted it, He would not drink.

35 Then they crucified Him, and divided His garments, casting lots, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet:

“They divided My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.”

36 Sitting down, they kept watch over Him there. 37 And they put up over His head the accusation written against Him:  {Matthew 27:32-37}

Reuters  Philippines Self-Flagellation Ritual

“Catholic devotees in the northern Philippines whip their own backs seeking repentance during Lent.”

Comments:  The self flagellation ritual will not earn anyone salvation and entry into heaven. Only a repentance of sins and a direct relationship, the ‘you must be born again in the spirit‘ concept, through God/Jesus Christ will allow entry into Heaven:

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.  {John 14:6}

The New Birth

There was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him.”

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”  {John 3:1-3}

11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.
{Ephesians 5:11 NKJV}

Jesus Christ is the answer to all of our problems.  Are you saved?  Do you know Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior?

“I am the vine, you are the branches.
He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit;
for without Me you can do nothing.”
{John 15:5 NKJV}

Pray to the One who saves man’s soul from eternal darkness separated from the giver of Life, Jesus Christ.  Ask Him into your heart, repent of your wrongdoings (sin) and accept Him into your daily lives.  He is faithful; He is forgiving; He will save you.

Stay safe.  Be Blessed.

and the sword comes and takes any person from among them,
he is taken away in his iniquity;
but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.”

  1. Dearie, What is wrong with the picture. Jesus entered Jerusalem on Palm Sunday and died on Friday.

    Exo 12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
    Exo 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.
    According to this passage and since Yeshua/Jesus was the lamb. He entered Jerusalem on a Sabbath because He also has to keep the Law found in Leviticus 23. Four days from the Sabbath is Wednesday. The fourth candle of the Menorah is called the Christ or Servant Candle.
    Friday is the Sixth Candle and Sunday is the first candle, There are five candles inbetween your Palm Sunday and good Friday. For Him to do what the Catholics say is for Him to break all the laws of God so therefore He could not be the Jesus they worship. They worship Allah/Satan so they made up a false Jesus for you to follow who is a Sabbath breaker.
    Jesus is keeping the Sabbath even up to today because the rapture of Believers is on the Day of Trumpet (first sliver of the new moon in October) and Armageddon is on the Day of Atonement.
    I suggest for you to stop following the Catholics because they will take you to the lake of fire and brimstone.

    Jesus Died on a Wednesday!! – Codes in the Bible

    Good Friday is a Myth; Jesus Died on a Wednesday!! by Roy A. Reinhold. I was quite blown away recently to hear Hal Lindsey state on his national radio program that he …

    The Sabbath that is referred to is the Annual Sabbath of Unleavened Bread which in that year was on a Thursday. The regular Sabbath is on a Saturday and Jesus rose on the Feast of First Fruits which was on a Sunday in that year.

    Now about the Sabbaths and how they are tied to Yeshua/Jesus. Matthew, Mark, Luke says the Son of Man is L-rd even of the Sabbath. That means to me that everything occurring with Yeshua will occur on a Sabbath, 4th day, Rosh Chodesh (first sliver of the new moon), full moon, or the 7th day of Feast of Tabernacles.
    Yeshua was conceived in 4 BC at Chanukkah (Festival of Lights and Feast of Dedication) on a Sabbath either on Dec. 15th or the 22nd. Born in the Fall on either Yom Teruah (Day of Trumpet) or on the first Annual Sabbath of Feast of Tabernacles in 3 BCE. Messianics teach Feast of Tabernacles. He was circumcised on the 8th day (A new beginning) on the Second Annual Sabbath. According to Stellarium (free Astronomy program) and, He was born on Yom Kippur in 3 BC (Stellarium -4). He began His ministry in 27 CE and baptized either in January (Michael Rood Chronological Gospels) or Day of Atonement (Biblical Astronomy article). Entered Jerusalem on a donkey in 29 CE (Shemitah year) on Abib 10 (Saturday), Month 1. Died on Passover (not a Sabbath) on Wednesday (4th day and 4th candle called the Christ candle or servant candle of the Menorah (7 candles)) (each candle represents a day and 1000 years). Buried on Thursday (Wednesday night by the time the first three stars came out which starts a new day). Possibly the men came out of the tomb when the stars had appeared and closed the tomb after the stars came out. This Day was the Feast of Unleavened Bread Annual Sabbath. Rose 72 hours later at the beginning of the Feast of First Fruits. Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot) is the Messianic Kingdom at the Second Coming in 2016 or 2017.

    Pentecost events or close to it.
    King David was born and died on Pentecost. According to rabbinic tradition, Enoch was born and was raptured on Pentecost. The Church was born on Pentecost (Acts 2). Pentecost is known as “the festival without a date”—no man knows the day or hour! Jews believe that the “fruit of the trees” is judged on Pentecost. Hmm. The Judgment Seat of Christ? The Jews believe that on Pentecost the heavens open for a brief instant and that God answers prayer—perhaps in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye! The Dispensation of Law occured on Pentecost. The Noahic Covenant was given on Pentecost. Ruth, a Gentile bride, was chosen by Boaz, a type of Christ, on PENTECOST, bringing this Gentile bride into the Messianic lineage! Pentecost is the day the Jews as they say, stay up all night to “decorate the bride!” Why?
    God married mankind on the first Pentecost in 1441 or 1446 BCE in a Shemitah year.
    1948 Israel became a nation on the Friday before Pentecost Sunday.
    2014 Cross/Staff in the corona of the Sun

    No one knows the day or the hour (Matthew 24:36) Day of Trumpet (Lev. 23:24ff) in verse 24:31. It can also refer to v. 35 because of the word “that” in verse 36 Heaven and earth shall pass away but of that day and hour no man knows. According to that day is in the 7th month of 3015 on the first sliver of the new moon which is called Rosh Hashanah. The third view is that it refers to Day of Atonement because it is one day and one hour long. The fourth view is Pentecost is known as “the festival without a date”—no man knows the day or hour!
    Note: Latter half of 2015, Torahclendar changed their header information.

    Yom Teruah (Day of Trumpet)
    Day of the Lord Fire mixed with hail, global earthquake, 1/3 of the earth burns. Europe? Middle East? Probable global earthquake. Note: This may occur on Day of Atonement. Another date is March 26th (Feast of First Fruits), 2016.
    Second Coming Jubilee, Gathering of the Believers from the globe and resurrection of the believing dead. September, 2017 on the first sliver of the new moon or 2016 in September.
    Immenency of Christ is a fable, a tradition (Col 2:8) and God has to stick to His laws in Leviticus so the only day that Jesus/Yeshua can come is on the Day of Trumpet in the year of Jubilee (Lev. 25:9-10).

    Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
    Philosophy. Here the word stands for the heretical Gnostic or pre-Gnostic alternative to the true understanding of who the Messiah is.
    Human tradition here is pagan tradition, because it goes along with the elemental spirits of the world (see Gal_4:3). Contrast it with Jewish tradition (including the Oral Torah; Mat_15:2-6, Mar_7:3-13, Gal_1:14) and with Messianic tradition (Rom_6:17; 1Co_11:2, 1Co_11:23; 2Th_2:15; 2Th_3:6).

    Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement)
    Day of the Lord Asteroids, maybe nuclear winter year on Day After. Sept. 24th
    Second Coming Armageddon and the Day the Bride gets married. Guests go to the 7 day feast but are not a part of the wedding party. Only the Bride and Groom at the wedding ceremony.

    • @ jardalkal: there is nothing incorrect in what you are saying. We in America celebrate Jesus’ trial, death and crucifixion formally on the day(s) America set aside to do so. So, I’m taking advantage of the ‘celebration’. We also celebrate on a daily basis, we don’t really confine His resurrection to either Easter Sunday and in this time, March 27, 2016. He is very much alive in my heart and soul every moment of every day.

  2. Miss Seashore Mary,
    In 2016, Passover is not until April 23rd and Resurrection Sunday follows Passover.

    Here is what the first century church did.
    These beliefs are what the early church believed in. How well do your beliefs compare to those of the early church?
    Baptism was by immersion and did not include infants.
    The complete Bible with the proper Old Testament and New Testament was relied on by the true Church in Asia Minor.
    A Binitarian view, that acknowledged the Holy Spirit, was held by the apostolic and post-apostolic true Christian leaders. Binitarianism is a Christian theology of duality, two personae, two individuals, or two aspects in one Godhead (or God). Classically, binitarianism is understood as a form of monotheism — that is, that God is an absolutely single being; and yet with binitarianism there is a “twoness” in God. The other common forms of monotheism are “unitarianism”, a belief in a single God with one aspect, and “trinitarianism”, a belief in a single God with three aspects.
    Birthdays were not celebrated by early Christians.
    Born-Again meant being born at the resurrection, not at the time of conversion.
    Celibacy for Bishops/Presbyters/Elders was not a requirement.
    Church Governance was hierarchical (goverened by priests; the organization of the priesthood according to different grades).
    Christmas was not observed by any professing Christ prior to the third century, or ever by those holding to early teachings.
    Circumcision, though not required, was long practiced by original Nazarene Christians.
    Confession of sins were not made to priests and did not require penance (suffering submitted to in penitance; act of atonement).
    Deification (to make godlike) of Christians (which begins after the first resurrection) was taught by the early leaders of the Church.
    Duties of Elders/Pastors were pastoral and theological, not predominantly sacramental–nor did they dress as many now do.
    Easter was not observed by the apostolic church.
    The Fall Holy Days were observed by true early Christians.
    The Father was considered to be God by all early professing Christians.
    The True Gospel included the kingdom of God and obedience to the law of God and was so understood by the faithful.
    Heaven was not taught to be the reward of Christians.
    Holy Spirit was not referred to as God or as a person by any early true Christians.
    Hymns were mainly psalms, not praises to Christ.
    Idols were taught against, including adoration of the cross.
    Immortality of the soul or humans was not taught.
    Jesus was considered to be God by the true Christians.
    The Kingdom of God was preached.
    Leavened Bread was removed from the homes of early Christians when the Jews did the same.
    Lent (the 40 days season between Ash Wednesday and Easter Day) was not observed by the primitive church.
    Limbo (a regionintermediate between heaven and hell in which the souls of unbaptized children etc.) was not taught by the original church.
    Mary was the mother of Jesus, was blessed (Luke 1:28) and called blessed (Luke 1:48), but was not prayed to, etc. by true early Christians.
    Military Service was not allowed for true early Christians.
    Millenarianism (a literal thousand year reign of Christ on Earth, often called the millennium) was taught by the early Christians.
    Monasticism ( the monastic way of life of monks) was unheard of in the early Christian church.
    Passover was kept on the 14th of Nisan/Abib by apostolic and second century Christians in Asia Minor.
    Pentecost was kept on Sunday by certain Jews and was observed then by professing Christians.
    Purgatory (place where souls of dead are purified by suffering) was not taught by the original apostolic church.
    The Resurrection of the dead was taught by all early Christians.
    The Sabbath was observed on Saturday by the apostolic and post-apostolic Church.
    Salvation was believed to be offered to the chosen now by the early Church, with others being called later, though not all that taught that (or other doctrines) practiced “the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3).
    God’s Six Thousand Year Plan for humankind to rule itself was believed by early professors of Christ.
    Sunday was not observed by the apostolic and original post-apostolic Christians.
    The Ten Commandments were observed by the apostolic and true post-apostolic Christians–and in the order that the Church of God claims they are in.
    Tithes and Offerings were given to support the ministry, the churches, the needy, and evangelical travels and gospel proclamation.
    Tradition had some impact on the second century Christians, but was never supposed to supercede the Bible.
    The Trinity was not a word used to describe the Godhead by the apostolic or second century Christians, though a certain threeness was acknowledged. Elohim refers to more than one.
    Unclean Meats were eaten by the early allegorists, but not by true Christians.
    The Virgin Birth was acknowledged by all true ante-Nicene Christians.

    John Ashcraft if you have any questions.

  4. I strongly agree that the catholic time line is off in their presumption that any part of a day or night is enough to count for 3 days and 3 nights.

    Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

    1 Corinthians 5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us

    Ephesians 4:8-10 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.

    1 Peter 3:18-20 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison…

    Those blinded spiritually will never grasp that Christ descended to the very — heart — of the earth spiritually, which is hell (*).

    * My take is that heaven is the “abundant” dimension, and hell the “withered” dimension, while the physical world of time-space exists between … something like 3 concentric spheres … i.e. higher and lower order dimensions, including fractal dimensions between. Perhaps hell is collapsing into the bottomless pit (something like a black hole) and losing dimensions?

    • table

      with corrected heading…

      Matthew 12
      38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
      39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:
      40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. [i.e. hell]
      41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

      • Everyone chooses…
        – believe Christ, or
        – believe in worldly traditions
        – academics, media, opinions, etc.
        – instead of Christ

        Jesus pointed to the sign of Jonah, revealed the location of hell, and Peter believed Him. Peter, who was Simon Bar Jonah (of his lineage).

        • Sincere apologies. I posted that “this weekend was Passover” – in post other day… my mistake. misread April 23.. looking at March 23.

          Regardless, Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life!
